Best Children’s Hospitals: 2015 - Fusion Healthcare Staffing

Doctor-clown checkupUS News annually ranks the 184 children’s hospitals in the United States in ten specialities: Cancer, Cardiology and Heart Surgery, Diabetes and Endocrinology, Gastroenterology and GI Surgery, Neonatology, Nephrology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Orthopedics, Pulmonology, and Urology. The hospitals are ranked according to clinical data and reputation.  Specialists were asked where they would send the sickest children in their speciality, and those answers helped determine a hospital’s reputation.  83/184 hospitals were ranked in at least one specialty. There were 12 hospitals with high scores in three or more specialties and were added to the 2015-2016 Honor Roll.  Below are the top twelve hospitals on the 2015-2016 Honor Roll, with their total points; two points were awarded for ranking in the top 5% of hospitals for each specialty, and one point was awarded if the hospital was in the top 10%.

There were also speciality-specific considerations such as five-year survival for certain cancers and complications from specific surgeries that were used to determine some of the rankings per speciality.
